10 Resume Filler Words to Delete by Career Bliss

Your LinkedIn profile and your resume are often your first introduction to a prospective employer.  Put your best foot forward and make sure your profile and your resume represent you as well as possible.  A previous post listed 20 Resume Power Words and the following are resume filler words that you should leave off your resume.

Phrases like “team player”, “strong work ethic” and “hits benchmarks” are things you are supposed to do.  Jeff Haden describes it perfectly in “10 Ways You Should Never Describe Yourself”.  Jeff points to Chris Rock‘s talk about things you are supposed to do in a hilarious but not safe for work video and suggests substituting “team player” or “hits benchmarks” for other things Chris describes you are not supposed to do.
